Stakeholders Collaborate to Ensure Successful Major Inspection of Summit Meghnaghat Power Company Ltd. (SMPCL)

In a crucial step towards ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of a significant power plant, a preparatory meeting for the upcoming Major Inspection (MI) was successfully held today. The meeting brought together related stakeholders, including General Electric (GE), Summit Meghnaghat Power Company Ltd., and China Northeast Electric Power Engineering & Services Company Ltd. (NEPCS), demonstrating their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.

Thorough Review of Preparatory Points

The preparatory meeting commenced with a comprehensive overview of all the vital points previously raised in connection with the Major Inspection. Led by Mr. Jung Yeeryang, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of NEPCS, the meeting was characterized by fruitful discussions and decision-making.

Representatives from GE, SMPCL, NEPCS, and other experts participated in the meeting, contributing their valuable insights and expertise. Necessary discussions were conducted to ensure that all aspects of the upcoming inspection are properly addressed.

Joint Site Visit to Assess preparation of MI

Following the preparation meeting, the stakeholders embarked on a joint site visit to the power plant, The primary objectives of the site visit were to observe the physical condition of the Gas Turbine (GT) and Steam Turbine (ST) sides, warehouse and identify any potential areas that require attention.

Inspecting Site Office and Accommodation Facilities

As part of the site visit, the designated area for the GE personnel's site office was inspected to ensure all coordination during the inspection.Moreover, the accommodation facilities arranged at the power plant dormitories were exactly checked to ensure the comfort and convenience of the inspection team of GE. A proper living environment for the team is vital to maintain their focus and efficiency throughout the Major inspection period.

Moving Forward

The preparation meeting and the subsequent site visit exemplify the collective commitment of all stakeholders to maintain the highest standards during the Major Inspection. Mr.Md. Reaz Uddin, the COO & Director of SMPCL, and Mr. Golam, the Service Director of GE, were involved participants in the proceedings.

With their expertise and dedication, the stakeholders aim to uphold power plant best practices, safety protocols, and operational excellence.
